Aquatics
The Westview Healthplex aquatic facility features a therapy pool and a 25-yard, six-lane lap pool. Our highly-trained aquatics team includes Indianapolis’ most knowledgeable and renowned aquatics experts. At Westview Healthplex Sports Club, we offer a variety of aquatics programs for all ages. Masters Swim Team
This adult aquatic fitness program is open to triathletes, competitive and fitness swimmers and is directed by a coach on deck who provides expert advice in training technique, stroke mechanics and goal setting. While the majority of participants swim for fitness, many compete in triathlons and United States Masters swimming meets. You may start at any time, and may come to as many of the six scheduled practices throughout the week as you wish. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.; and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Members: $20/month or $2/practice; Non-members: $40/month or $5/practice
Stroke Clinic
Looking for a quick and easy way to analyze your strokes and learn new ways to correct your technique? Join our four week stroke clinic to work on your breathing, technique, and ways to build endurance. This clinic will help you become a more effecient and faster swimmer. Members: $35; non-members: $55.
Session 1: September 9 - September 30, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday
Session 2: November 1 - November 22, 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. every Saturday
Barracuda Club
This program is designed for youths ages six to 17 who have the interest to swim for fitness and are able to complete 25 yards of freestyle. A swim coach who provides guidance on stroke technique and endurance directs practices during this program. Come learn proper stroke technique and build endurance for a lifetime of swimming. Classes run Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Private/Semi Private Swim Lessons
Private and semi-private instruction is available for anyone wanting individual instruction or those with special needs. You must be three years of age to participate. Contact the aquatics department to set up times and days that fit your schedule. Please notify your instructor of any change in schedule at least 12 hours in advance to refrain from being charged for a missed swim lesson.

Session 1: September 8 - October 30
Session 2: November 3 - December 23 (no class on December 24, make up December 22; no class December 25, make up December 23)
Parent Tot (six months to two years of age)
Parents and children learn together to increase a child’s comfort level in the water and build a foundation of basic skills, such as arm and leg movements and breath control.
Preschool (three to five years of age)
The objective is to help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Along with this, the children will learn the fundamental skills of swimming, including floating and locomotive skills.
Youth (six to 12 years of age)
The objective is to build on the skills learned in previous levels. Treading water and coordination of the front and back crawl along with the introduction of breast stroke and butterfly are included in this class.
Adult (13 years of age and older)
This class is geared toward teens and adults that are just learning how to swim or are ready for the next level, including learning the strokes. Students will progress at their own rate while learning new skills and refining their existing skills.
Aquatic Personal Training
A personal training session in the pool will help you get the most out of your workout with one-on-one instruction and motivation. The resistive properties of water provide an excellent environment for exercise (especially for individuals who have arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis or difficulty exercising on land.) Family Night in the Pool
Each month, Westview Healthplex Sports Club will offer a different aquatic activity for you and your family to enjoy. Stop by the service desk to register for these upcoming family events. Family night events are held in the therapy pool. Members: Free; non-members: $5

Underwater Pumpkin Patch: Join us on October 25 for a pumpkin patch in the pool. Games and pumpkin decorating will follow after you pick your pumpkin from the patch. Ages three and older are welcome. The event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Members: $5; non-members: $10.
Water Scouts
In Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or Brownies? Bring your scouts to the Westview Healthplex Sports Club to earn their aquatics badges. Call the aquatics department to set up days and times. Please be prepared to identify which badges you are working towards. A minimum of five scouts is requested. Members: $6/participant; non-members: $8/participant.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Class
Lifeguarding trains individuals how to be a Red Cross lifeguard. During this class, candidates learn how to respond to water-related emergencies by developing surveillance skills to recognize and prevent emergencies, water rescue, spinal injury management and post-rescue care, first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer. You must be 15 years of age by the completion of the course. All classes will take place in the pool and classroom. The fall session will be held on October 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., November 1 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., November 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and November 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Attendance for all classes is required for completion of certification.

Prenatal Water Fitness
This fitness program is designed specifically for expectant mothers. It includes low to moderate exercises and strengthens key muscles used in child bearing. Come join us in the lap pool for low impact aerobics along with great companionship with fellow moms-to-be! Classes can be taken one or two times per week.

Aqua Arthritis
This class focuses on increasing range of motion, muscle tone and stretching. All ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. The class is open to those who want a slow paced exercise class that offers a slight challenge. This class meets in the therapy pool. Our instructors are certified through the Arthritis Foundation.
Aqua Arthritis Plus
This class focuses on increasing range of motion, muscle tone, and stretching. It is slightly more intense than the Aqua Arthritis class. Join our certified arthritis instructors in the therapy pool for this exciting and motivating class.
W.E.T. (Water Exercise Training)
This class is similar to Aqua Arthritis Plus but slightly more advanced. It is great for seniors or those who are new to water exercise. It is not recommended for individuals with severe arthritis. Minimal equipment will be used.
Hydromania
Instructors use water noodles, water weights and other water equipment. The class will be taught in either the lap pool or the therapy pool. The class is open to beginners, intermediate and advanced participants of water exercise, and swimming skills are not required.
Aquacize
Medium intensity strength class that utilizes the resistive properties of the water. The class uses a variety of water fitness equipment such as gloves, dumbbells, paddles, stretch bands and noodles.
Power Plunge
This high intensity class will focus on building strength and endurance without putting added stress on your joints. All of the water equipment will be used. This class is recommended for those wanting intense strength training and a full body workout.
Splash-N-Dash
This class is designed for individuals of every fitness level to enjoy the benefits of exercise while participating in the water. This class will meet in either the lap pool or therapy pool. All the water equipment will be used. This class is open to beginners, intermediate, and advanced participants of water exercise. Swimming skills are not required.
